A 4th of July Message from Cap'n Ron

Hey y’all—Captain Ron here, your trusted Lake Fork bass guide.

With the 4th of July just around the corner, I can already feel the excitement building. There’s something special about summertime in Texas, but the lead-up to Independence Day always brings a little extra energy to the lake. Maybe it’s the longer days, the warm breeze off the water, or the way the bass seem just as fired up as we are. Either way, it’s the perfect time to be out here chasing giants.

For those who don’t know me yet, I’ve been guiding full-time on Lake Fork for nearly two decades, and I’ve been fishing this legendary lake for even longer. Over the years, I’ve had the chance to help anglers of all experience levels land their personal bests—and nothing makes me prouder than seeing someone light up when they pull a big ol’ bass over the rail.

If you’re thinking about making a trip to Lake Fork over the holiday weekend, let me tell you: it’s a great time to fish. The water’s warm, the cover is thick, and the bass are active. Whether you’re a seasoned angler or just looking to try something new with the family, I’d love to show you what this lake has to offer.

The 4th of July is all about freedom, and to me, there’s nothing more freeing than a day on the water with a rod in hand, good company in the boat, and the chance to hook into something unforgettable. Out here, time slows down a little. We share stories, laugh a lot, and sometimes—if we’re lucky—we get to net a true Lake Fork trophy.

Wishing y’all tight lines and a safe, fun-filled lead-up to the 4th!
